The Herbal Trail “Path to the Grotto” is one of the most beautiful themed walking routes in the Municipality of Marina. It stretches through unspoiled nature and leads to the Cave of St. Philip and St. James (Grota) – a place of deep spiritual and historical significance, where nature and heritage blend in perfect harmony.
The trail offers a unique experience of the Mediterranean landscape, inviting visitors to discover the diverse world of Dalmatian herbs typical of this region. Every step reveals the scents of immortelle, rosemary, lavender, and other wild plants that have been part of everyday life, local tradition, and cuisine for centuries.
Along the way to the Grotto, visitors pass by Komorje Hill (Pliće), offering beautiful views of the Marina field. The cave of St. Philip and St. James preserves traces of ancient life and the spiritual connection between people and nature.
