Petrovača wells (Roman wells)

Petrovača wells are one of the numerous historical water features of the narrow Marina area. According to local legend, the Petrovača wells on the location of Jamina on the south side of the Marina field have existed since Roman times, while the plans preserved in the archives of the Trogir family Garagnin - Fanfogna speak of the restoration of a series of 3 wells (deeper Veli and Mali well and shallower Studenac) in 19th century. Wells are used to irrigate nearby fertile areas. What is also interesting is the toponym Seline, as it is called the wooded slope of the hill in the immediate vicinity of the wells, which may indicate the remains of one of the medieval hamlets of the village Marina.

Today, this historic site has been restored and transformed into a thematic park that combines cultural heritage with a natural setting. Within the park, there are benches for rest and a picnic area, ideal for visitors who wish to enjoy peace and greenery, while children are drawn to the playground inspired by nature and tradition.
The Petrovače Wells have become a place of meeting, relaxation, and connection with nature and history – a space where the past and the present coexist in harmony.
